Kesslers wraps it up for Viktor&Rolf

London-based retail display expert Kesslers has been shortlisted in two categories at the inaugural Creative Retail Awards, as well as at the prestigious POPAI Awards, for its Viktor&Rolf Christmas wrapping station.

The project has been named as a finalist in the Cosmetics, Beauty, Hair & Fragrance – Permanent Display category at the POPAI Awards and for Most Innovative POP Concept and Best Use of Point of Sale in Store at the Creative Retail Awards.

Kesslers’ creative designers took the theme of an enchanted manor on Christmas morning and used Viktor&Rolf’s iconic branding to create a light pink bureau for in-store wrapping and a tree-inspired 'coffret tower' to allow the gift boxes to be displayed alongside fragrances for testing. To emulate a traditional bureau, the unit featured stylised corners, turned legs and a complex miniature “candlestick-style” tester holder, as well as a pull-out drawer to provide a wrapping surface.

Daniel Astarita, sales & marketing director at Kesslers, commented: “We are extremely proud that the judging panels for both awards have recognised the creativity and innovation of this project. It is always a boost to the whole business to have our efforts acknowledged, and we are now keeping our fingers crossed for success.”

The Creative Retail Awards is a new event for 2018, designed to recognise and reward innovation and excellence in retail design, with the winners set to be unveiled at the awards ceremony in Covent Garden, London, on June 5.

Meanwhile, the POPAI Awards are widely regarded as the ultimate celebration of creativity, innovation and best practice in shopper engagement and successful retailing, and the winners will be announced at a gala dinner in London on October 9.

Employing over 175 staff at its 130,000sqft high-tech retail design and manufacturing facilities in Stratford, East London, Kesslers creates display solutions for a diverse portfolio of the world’s leading brands, including L’Oréal, Adidas, Marks & Spencer and Sainsbury’s.
