The Judges 2022

The Judging Panel comprises of experts from across our industry, who all give their time and expertise to participate in the programme free of charge. After using, testing, commenting on and ranking all product entries in at least three separate categories, their private deliberations determine the shortlist in each category.

Bea Sweet, Celebrity Make-up Artist
Bea’s stunning creative make-up looks have graced the front covers of a huge array of magazines, from Vogue to Numero, globally and in the UK, while her celebrity clients include Dua Lipa, FKA Twigs, Erykah Badu and Charli XCX.

Bernicia Boateng, Celebrity Make-up Artist
Bernicia has created looks for some of the most famous women in fashion and entertainment, including Micheala Coel, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Cindy Bruna, and on sets for Vogue, NewYorker, Netflix, BBC and more. Her namesake studio in London educates on all things beauty, incorporating work with local disadvantaged women.

Carl Bembridge, Celebrity hairstylist
Carl is a session stylist who has built a name for himself due to his outstanding hairstyling skills on both UK & US celebrities. His day-to-day work consists of working on celebrities, photo shoots, music videos, campaigns and TV shows. His styling, clients and his own brand of Carl Bembridge Wigs create eye-catching red carpets that make exciting hair headlines.

Dominic Skinner, Global Senior Make-up Artist for MAC & Judge, BBC Glow Up
With over 20 years’ experience as a make-up artist, Dominic‘s varied career has seen him work in TV, film, editorial, advertisements, theatre and music, creating everything from clean beauty to full-on body painting. He has worked in all four fashion capitals for over 30 seasons. Most recently he became a judge for the BBC’s make-up artist competition, Glow Up.

Emily Hunter, Editor, Beauty Magazine
With over a decade’s experience as a beauty editor and 5 years of The Beauty Awards under her belt, Emily constantly has her eyes open for the next big thing in beauty and is excited to chair the judging panel for The Beauty Awards 2022 with ASOS.

Emma Begley, Buyer, ASOS Face + Body
Emma joined ASOS in 2013 and has over 10 years' experience in Buying. Responsible for the make-up, hair care and Ggooming categories at ASOS, Emma has an enthusiasm for the newest innovations in beauty and has launched over 30 brands onto the ASOS platform.

Dr Ewoma Ukeleghe, Founder of skndoctor aesthetics clinic
Dr. Ewoma combines her extensive medical knowledge with a refreshingly contemporary take on beautification. Championed by the likes of Dazed, Vogue, i-D Magazine, the BBC and Refinery29, she has worked with skincare brands including Glossier, Bioderma, Vichy and La Roche-Posay and is known for her holistic, pioneering approach.

Joy Adenuga, Make-up Artist
Joy Adenuga is a renowned multi-award winning make-up artist with an unparalleled reputation as a melanin specialist. An educator and brand consultant with well over a decade in experience, her clients include Google, BBC, Kelloggs, Unilever, AppleTV, Boots, Cantu Beauty and many more. Her recently launched beauty line has culminated in industry awards and coverage in a plethora of magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Harpers Bazaar and The Sunday Times within just 12 months.

Kadeeja Sel Khan, Beauty Influencer
The winner of 'Keeping it real influencer' in the Fabulous Good Influence Awards, Kadeeja is one of Britain’s best-known beauty influencers who shares everything behind the scenes of Photoshop and filters to detail her skin journey with cystic acne, PCOS and rosacea, believing everybody should feel confident and beautiful in the skin they’re in.

Lisa Potter-Dixon, Make-up Artist & Author
Lisa has been a professional make-up artist for over 15 years. Her work is regularly featured in magazines such as Wonderland, ELLE and Grazia. She is also the author of three best selling books and contributing editor for Sheerluxe.

Patricia Bright, Lifestyle Influencer
YouTube success story Patricia is a content creator and business entrepreneur, with a career spanning over 10 years and a global following of over 4 million. With her professional background in finance and growing beauty and fashion channels, Patricia empowers women by providing financial, career and personal development advice. She also hosts If I Could Tell You Just One Thing, a four-part YouTube series that sees her in conversation with some of the world’s most inspirational women.

Rachel Wortman-Williams, ASOS Partnerships Manager
Rachel joined ASOS in 2017 and manages the Face + Body Partnerships portfolio for ASOS Media Group. Over the past 2 years Rachel has helped grow the category, launching Charlotte Tilbury, LUSH, Huda Beauty and Urban Decay, and many more campaigns. Rachel has always had a love for the beauty market, with prior experience working at COTY and as a fragrance and beauty consultant.

Sasha Louise Pallari, make-up artist and #FILTERDROP campaigner
Sasha is a professional makeup artist, curve model and the creator of the global campaign #FILTERDROP, which resulted in an ASA policy change that brands and influencers can no longer use undisclosed filters to advertise beauty products. Sasha has been featured by BBC News, Vogue, Stylist and Grazia, and has created makeup masterclasses for brands such as Charlotte Tilbury and Clarins.

Sophie Baverstock, BBC Glow Up season 3 winner
Sophie is a 22 year old professional make-up artist and winner of BBC’s Glow Up 2021. She has this year received a degree in Makeup for Media and Performance from AUB and is now working in TV and film. 

Uche Natori, Content Creator
Uche (aka THE Base Queen) is a self-taught makeup enthusiast whose engaging beauty and fashion content inspires her 400,000 followers. She quickly amassed a loyal YouTube audience through her tutorials for hooded eyes, signature foundation routines and simple but glamorous make-up looks. She has featured on campaigns with Sleek and L'Oréal, and worked with a variety of brands including Clinique, NARS, Lancôme, ASOS, Nasty Gal and Dr Jart.
