Garnier Ambre Solaire is launching its first ever Sun Safe UV Patch, to help highlight the effects of UV exposure.
While 97% of people enjoy spending time in the sun, only 52% feel that sun protection is a necessity, says latest research and the rationale behind the brand working with Tesco to give a Sun Safe UV patch away with one million bottles of Ambre Solaire sunscreen.Â
Charlotte Blanchard, general manager Garnier UK & Ireland says: “We are proud to be partnering with Tesco to launch our Sun Safe UV Patch. We have a responsibility to help the people in the UK understand the dangers of UV exposure, and we hope that with this device we are providing people with a simple and truly visual way of understanding the UV levels we are exposed to.â€
Stocked from April 2018 and available in select stores nationwide, the patch measures both UVA and UVB rays and indicates to the consumers the UV level they are exposed to, acting as a constant indicator to remind them to reapply sun cream and seek shade.Â
Sinead Bell, category director at Tesco adds: “As one of the biggest providers of suncare, we’re proud to have worked together with L’Oreal to offer customers this new, helpful sun patch on bottles of Garnier Ambre Solaire sun screen. With the Sun Safe UV Patch it is now easier than ever to help families understand UV levels and exposure.â€
Developed in Sweden, the patch has been created to work for the most sensitive skin types, and has been designed to withstand an active day in the sun. The company recommends that one patch is used per day in order to measure the total UV levels of a full day.Â
