Escentual launches discovery boxes

Online beauty retailer Escentual has launched #EscentualScents, a monthly fragrance discovery box with a unique twist. 

Each box contains 8 'blind' test perfume samples in plain packaging, labelled A to H. At the end of each month Escentual.com will reveal what the fragrances are, and customers can see which, if any, they guessed correctly.

Each monthly box will explore a different fragrance family; for example, January is green fragrances, while February will explore Chypre scents and March will comprise of florals.

The box costs £19.95 which is redeemable against any purchase from escentual.com.

Chelsey Edmunds, Communications and Campaigns Manager at Escentual.com, says: “We trialled the #EscentualScents campaign when bricks and mortar stores were closed due to lockdown and customers weren’t able to try out new fragrances. It was a huge success and the discovery boxes sold out fast, so we’ve decided to roll out a new monthly blind trial box to help educate people about fragrance families and raise awareness of old and new perfumes.

“Our first pilot scheme sold out and over 80% went on to buy full size perfumes so it was great value for money for the customers and also a great way for fragrance houses to market new and existing lines.”

The campaign is now live on the Escentual website the discovery boxes will be supported on social media, with live events on Instagram and Facebook to reveal all the fragrances at the end of each month.
