Debenhams unveils virtual beauty room

Debenhams has launched a virtual beauty room to give its customers access to expert beauty advice from the comfort of their own homes.

Working in partnership with premium beauty brands, Debenhams is offering two exciting initiatives.

The first allows customers to book virtual one-to-one consultations with brands through the Debenhams.com website. These 30-minute consultations are bespoke to the individual customer and focus on answering specific beauty queries and needs. Brands currently offering these consultations include Shiseido, Givenchy and bareMinerals, and the retailer plans to expand the number of brands offering this service in the coming months.

The second initiative uses Debenhams’ social media platforms, with social beauty masterclasses taking place weekly on Facebook and Instagram. The masterclasses will feature beauty experts sharing tips, tricks and expert techniques, starting with Christmas gifting with Clarins and a fragrance masterclass with YSL.

Debenhams has launched the virtual beauty room services in response to changing customer needs, with many customers saying they are missing their usual interactions with knowledgeable beauty teams.

Steven Cook, co-CEO and managing director at Debenhams, says: “During these challenging times, health, beauty and wellbeing is more important than ever before. We wanted to ensure that our customers could still have access to our beauty experts to support them with all their beauty needs without having to leave home. That’s why we have introduced the virtual beauty room and we are delighted to be able to deliver free of charge consultations and masterclasses from some of the very best beauty houses across the globe.”
