With the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs recently announcing that as part of its 25-year environment plan it has pledged to eliminate all avoidable plastic waste, including wet wipes, beauty brand Yes To has highlighted that not all wet wipes are bad for the envrionment.

Its wipes are made with 100% cellulose, a natural polymer that forms part of the living cells of all vegetation. Cellulose is biodegradable, compostable, and renewable. Its wipes are also FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified and unlike other wipes, does not use plastic “binders”. Yes To wipes are bound using a technology called Spunlace. This is a process that starts with carded web and entangles long staple fibers with high pressure water jets. The process does not use any latex material to bind the fibers, only high pressure.

And its Yes to Cotton wipes, launched in 2016, are made in part from innovative recycled t-shirt technology, saving energy and water, preserving land and reducing greenhouse emissions. The wipes are for ultra-sensitive skin formulated with cotton extract and cotton seed oil to soften skin and help create a protective layer against irritation.
