The Body Shop named world’s most searched brand

Online beauty discovery platform Cosmetify has released its Cosmetify Index, which reveals The Body Shop has been named the world’s most searched brand, ahead of Yves Rocher and Lush.

The Body Shop was also named the UK’s favourite beauty brand for the second year running, based on search volume, and came top in 30 other countries.

Providing a 2020 rundown of the beauty industry, The Cosmetify Index explores the most searched brands, most powerful beauty influencers, best brand engagement and more to provide a comprehensive overview of the beauty landscape over the past year.

The top three hottest beauty brands remain unchanged from last year, with Huda Beauty, Anastasia Beverly Hills and MAC Cosmetics respectively retaining their podium positions.

Huda Beauty founder Huda Kattan was also named Most Powerful Beauty Influencer 2020, while Florence by Mills took the top spot for social media engagement.

2020s Rising Stars of Beauty were revealed as PÜR, Kitsch and Merci Handy, experiencing the biggest interest in consumer interest compared to previous Google Trends data.

Cosmetify also identified the most popular sustainable brands, with Origins taking the top spot, followed by Liz Earle and Weleda.
