Unilever reveals whole body deodorant collections

Unilever has announced the expansion of its deodorant business with the launch of new whole body collections for the Sure, Sure Women and Lynx brands.  

Designed specifically for multiple areas of the body, the new products use Unilever’s exclusive Odour Adapt Technology which adapts to the varying odours found across the body.  

Consumer research reports that Google searches for ‘whole-body deodorants’ have increased by 1000% in the past year, with approximately a third of UK adults already using a deodorant on body parts besides underarms, highlighting the rising demand for whole body personal care products.  

Monique Rossi, General Manager of Deodorants at Unilever UKI, says: “We don’t always like to talk about it but odour affects us all in different ways.  

What makes our whole body deodorant ranges different is that they have been designed specifically to adapt and target odour found all over the body, and are a perfect solution for shoppers looking for odour protection beyond their underarms.”  

“We see this as a highly incremental opportunity for retailers and we’re confident our whole body deodorants are going to be a game-changer in the personal care aisle,” comments Rossi.  

The Sure Whole Body Deodorant is now available in two female and two male scents, with three formats, a spray, stick and cream, to suit different areas of the body and application preferences.

Utilising Unilever's Odour Adapt Technology, the formulas use versatile ingredients which adapt to and remove the different odours across the body. A dual action mechanism traps the odour and neutralises malodour-causing bacteria to stop it at the source, leaving the product’s fresh fragrance.

Available in Pear & Cedarwood and Coconut & Sandalwood scents, the Lynx Lower Body Spray is a light and invisible spray that provides 72-hour freshness to neutralise odour in intimate areas.  

The announcement comes as part of a series of deodorant innovations from Unilever, backed by its leading R&D deodorant capabilities. The launch is part of a multi-year innovation plan for the Sure, Sure Women and Lynx brands, soon to be followed by Dove.
