Superdrug to open 30 new stores in 2026

Superdrug has announced plans to open 30 new stores across the UK in 2026. The new stores will create approximately 600 new jobs and will allow the retailer to expand its geographical footprint across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The new stores will be designed to immerse, inform and engage, allowing customers to discover trending beauty brands and access expert advice.

Shoppers can also discover scents at the stores’ luxury fragrance counters, enjoy beauty treatments and visit pharmacies and nurse-led clinics for healthcare services and advice.

Clare Jennings, Superdrug’s Property Director, says: “Superdrug continues to see strong demand for physical, experience-led retail, and our 2026 store opening programme is a clear vote of confidence in UK bricks and mortar retail.

“By opening 30 stores, we’re not just increasing our footprint, we’re creating destinations that bring together beauty, healthcare and affordable treatments under one roof,” comments Jennings.

Alongside the new store openings, the retailer has also revealed plans to refit 70 existing stores throughout the year, with the refurbished stores set to benefit from Superdrug’s sustainable store scheme to ensure sites are as energy efficent and environmentally responsible as possible.

The announcements come as Superdrug continues to see strong consumer demand for experience-led physical retail with the brand set to invest in large-format destination stores and retail park locations.
