Simple expands Active Barrier Care range

Simple has announced the launch of two new ceramide-boosting moisturisers, the Repairing Rich Cream Face Moisturiser and the Soothing Water Cream Face Moisturiser.

The moisturisers mark the expansion of the brand’s Active Barrier Care range and both products feature Unilever’s patented Ceramide Boosting technology, which is formulated to boost skin repair from within by penetrating deep into the skin.

The Simple Repairing Rich Cream Face Moisturiser is formulated to repair and strengthen the skin’s barrier using the Ceramide Boosting technology. It is clinically proven to increase skin resilience by up to 2x against external damage after 28 days. The formula is enriched with conditioning cica and Pro-Vitamin B5.

Targeted for dry, sensitive skin, the Soothing Water Cream Face Moisturiser gives instant relief and hydration. It is formulated with 15% Skin Conditioners and organic Aloe to smooth and calm the skin. This ultra-hydrating cream supports the skin’s natural function to improve its resistance.

Caroline O’Brien, Head of Skincare at Unilever, says: “Our goal as a brand is to bring premium, quality skincare to shoppers to a mass audience price. Consumers are always looking for more when it comes to products, whether that be the quality of performance or the technology within them, and with shoppers seeking out skincare that targets barrier protection and repair, this new range is set to deliver just that.”

Trends reflect a growing interest in skin barrier care, with Unilever reporting that there have been over 400 million views on TikTok for #skinbarrierrepair and an increase of 319% on Google for searches of ‘repairing skin barrier’. As more ceramide boosting products are dominated by premium-price brands, the two moisturisers provide a more affordable alternative for consumers.

The Simple Repairing Rich Cream Face Moisturiser and Soothing Water Cream Face Moisturiser are available now across UK retailers.
