New oral care brand OZEN has unveiled the first patented sensitive toothpaste technology in almost 30 years, launching in over 800 Boots stores nationwide.
The toothpaste’s AeroGraft™ technology was created after 10 years of research by NHS surgeon Dr Niall Kent. It is made from aerogels, one of the lightest solid materials known to man and used in NASA space missions.
Unlike traditional sensitive toothpastes, OZEN’s works within minutes by sealing tubules and releasing calcium and phosphate ions, forming a protective mineral layer on the surface of the teeth that is resistant to acidic conditions.
A consumer trial of 1,140 people discovered that 84% of adults found OZEN more effective than their existing sensitive toothpaste.
OZEN has also released a pioneering Oral Gel, intended for direct application to sensitive areas before exposure to sensitivity triggers.
Founder of OZEN, Dr Niall Kent, says: “I knew the existing treatments were masking the problem rather than solving it. The technology had not changed in decades.
“We borrowed from aerospace and art to do what dentistry had not. No one had thought to look there. This really is sensitivity done different," adds Kent.
OZEN daily-use toothpaste in fresh mint and mild mint, RRP £10, and OZEN Oral Gel in mint free and mild mint, RRP £15, are available instore and online now at Boots.
