L'Occitane looks to 'reset' skin

French beauty brand L'Occitane is introducing a new serum that promises to erase the impact of stress and fatigue on the complexion overnight.

L'Occitane Immortelle Reset contains three potent active ingredients, suspended in an innovative dual textured serum.

The three actives are Immortelle Essential Oil, the brand's iconic and powerful anti-oxidant, which havs the power to boost collagen production and double the rate of micro-circulation in the skin; Acmella Oleacera Extract, known by some as the ‘natural alternative to Botox’, which when applied topically relaxes muscle tension under the skin; and Majoram Extract, a powerful active ingredient that works on the basis of Epigenetics (it has the ability to restart gene expression functions that have become dormant and less effective due to natural ageing and external aggressors such as UV, pollution and stress).

The formulation boasts a novel oil-in-serum texture. Upon application the first texture is a light water-gel, which is quickly absorbed, then followed by  thousands of suspended golden bubbles which deliver a powerful dose of Immortelle oil extracts which are slowly released into the skin. A satin smooth finish delivers instant hydration without any greasiness or stickiness.

It is recommended to be used at night when the skin is best able to perform its repairing and regenerating functions. The company says that during this peaceful time, the skin is able to better absorb and metabolise the active ingredients for maximum impact. Its scientific studies and measurements of Immortelle Reset have shown visible results after just one night – with continued improvement over longer periods.

Immortelle Reset goes on counter in September and will retail at £49 for 50ml.
