HotHouse honoured with Queen's Award for Enterprise

HotHouse, the company behind the successful tanning brand St Moriz, has been honoured with a Queen's Award for Enterprise for its outstanding results in international trade.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the UK’s most prestigious business awards, recognising and celebrating business excellence across the UK.

HotHouse launched St Moriz in the UK in 2008 offering affordable tanning products, developed by salon professional experts. After establishing itself successfully in the UK market, the USA was the first real achievement for the export business. In 2016 St Moriz secured more business in the USA retail market and over the past 2 years the business has trebled with more year on year growth expected.

In 2016 the brand secured national distribution in Saudi Arabia, a market with very little self-tanning products available.

HotHouse is now currently trading in over 30 international markets and sales have grown by 142%. In the same period, export’s share of overall company sales has increased from 12% to 24%. Europe accounts for 62% of the brand’s export sales, North America contributes 35% and Middle East 3%.

The company says the award will help the business to expand further into more export markets.
