NIVEA introduces revolutionary EcoRefill technology

NIVEA has introduced EcoRefill Hand Soap, a revolutionary new product that marks a major advance in hand cleansing.

NIVEA EcoRefill Hand Soap comprises of a refillable bottle made of 100% recycled and recyclable PET plastic, an easy-to-dispense pump, and an EcoRefill cleanser tablet.

The EcoRefill bottle is filled with lukewarm water before the refill tablet is added. The bottle should be closed and shaken for 30 seconds to create a gentle, caring, mild and moisturising hand soap that is 99% biodegradable, pH friendly and free from alcohol and mineral oil.

The product typically lasts 25% longer compared to standard NIVEA liquid hand soap, and is housed in FSC certified paper.

The refill tabs have been mildly formulated to thoroughly cleanse hands without drying, and are available in 3 fresh fragrances: Lemongrass, Cotton Flower and Hibiscus & Honeysuckle.

The dissolved EcoRefill tab is strong enough to be used after just 5 minutes, although it takes a total of 5 hours for the tablet to dissolve completely.

The launch of EcoRefill forms part of NIVEA’s broader target to ensure all plastic packaging is refillable, reusable or recyclable by 2025 and has been designed to address the growing demand for more sustainable products and packaging.

The NIVEA EcoRefill Hand Soap range is available now at nivea.co.uk and 50 Tesco stores nationwide, with further rollout scheduled for 2022.
