Revlon looks ahead to 2016

Cosmetics heavyweight Revlon has previewed a swathe of launches for 2016, including a complete refresh of its mascara range. Here’s the low down.

The colour-coded range of five mascaras comprises Ultra Volume, Super Length, Volume+Length, Dramatic Definition and an Ultimate All-In-One Mascara designed to deliver volume, length, definition, lift and intense colour all at once. The All-In-One product features a mini oval-shaped brush to maximise the amount of formula that reaches the lashes for easy application. The range will arrive in Boots, Superdrug, Tesco and Amazon in January.

LOVE IS ON

Also in January on Amazon, paying tribute to the brand’s current “LOVE IS ON” marketing campaign, a LOVE IS ON eau de toilette will debut in a distinctive heart-shaped bottle. “The unique, premium heart-shaped bottle embodies passion and love with a rich red glow,” says the brand.

A couple of months later, in March, Revlon’s ColorStay Foundation will relaunch in Boots, Superdrug, Tesco and Amazon in pump packaging, for convenient, mess-free, application – responding to feedback from customers. “You asked, we listened,” says the brand.

Scheduled for a summer launch at Tesco is ColorStay 2-in-1 Compact Makeup & Concealer. This clever cover and conceal duo promises eight-hour lasting power that can even survive a work out at the gym!

New for lips and nails

Also in the pipeline are seven shades of new Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour – vivid matte colours with a velvet finish – and an Ultra HD Lip Lacquer with a high gloss shine.

To help with application, Superdrug will launch Revlon’s new eight-strong collection of make-up brushes, with angled Diamond Grip handles for a good grip, and ExpertFX bristles.

Meanwhile, nails will get shatter-proof strength and a diamond-like shine, thanks to a new and improved ColorStay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat. This can be used with Revlon’s Gel Envy range of polishes for at-home gel-like results that can be removed with normal polish remover.

Did you know?

Research carried out by New York City’s Fordham University for Revlon has discovered that women who perform a simple daily ritual of using a favourite fragrance, applying make-up and smiling at themselves in the mirror feel more confident. After just four days of following this ritual, 77 of the women in the trial felt more outgoing and social, and 74 per cent said they were more likely to flirt. “Rituals can be powerful – performing them can actually change the way you feel,” says Tracy Rohrbaugh, Revlon’s vice president of marketing at Revlon.
