Mel’s jewel tattoos are bang on trend

Melanie Sykes launches her very own range of metallic jewellery body art tattoos

National treasure Melanie Sykes has collaborated with temporary body art specialists Glimmer to produce her very own range of temporary metallic jewellery tattoos.

Temporary tattoos have become a beauty and fashion phenomenon in recent months, turning up on everyone from Alessandra Ambrosio and Aerin Lauder to Rita Ora and Beyoncé.

The new “Gold by Melanie” range retails at £13.99 and comprises some of Melanie’s favourite shapes, including hearts, stars, the sun, and Indian graphics – Melanie is half Indian, so this represents her heritage.

“I instantly fell in love with Glimmer as soon as I saw them on my skin,” says Melanie. “They lift an outfit in such a cool way and make you stand out wherever you go – a dinner or Christmas party, with a pair of jeans… it’s such a great way to update your look and keep bang on trend.”

Melanie says she really enjoyed the creative process of designing her very own temporary tattoo collection. “I chose designs, patterns, words and objects that all mean something personally to me and also look fantastic on your skin,” she says. “I hope you like my designs that enhance any outfit and look super cool. Enjoy them as much as I do.”

For customers unsure of how to apply the tattoos, offer this advice: Simply remove the clear film and apply to clean, dry skin. Wet with a damp sponge and press for 20 to 30 seconds then carefully remove the paper to reveal your temporary tattoo. Et Viola! Tattoos last roughly two to five days, depending on wear.
