Floris unveils refurbished store

British fragrance brand Floris has renovated its No.89 Jermyn Street, London shop for the first time in over a century in order to showcase its eclectic range of scents in clean, stylish surroundings.

The refurbishment of the grade II listed building was inspired by the bespoke traditions of perfumery and the olfactory senses, bringing tasteful fixtures and furnishings into the space in order to enhance the original Spanish mahogany cabinets and glasswork.

To celebrate the restoration, Floris is undertaking two important projects: the team will move forward items previously stored in the Floris archives and display them in the newly designed space, and Floris will unveil the Ledger series, a collection of eight fragrances from the Floris archive that have been found in customer ledgers dating back centuries.

A labour of love for the Floris perfumery team for the past two years, the Ledger series will be housed in a newly commissioned cabinet that allows customers to learn about the history of each fragrance as well as sample them. These scents are not part of the brand’s main collection, but will be available to be hand-poured by the Floris team on request

Juan Famenias Floris founded the Jermyn Street shop with his wife in 1730, and the 8th and 9th generations of the family remain at the brand’s helm today.
