CEW honours industry’s finest

 

Every year, CEW’s annual Achiever Awards recognise people who have helped shape and influence the beauty industry in different ways. This year, at an emotionally charged event, the following winners were announced:

2015 CEW Lifetime Achiever Award

Mary Greenwell

Mary Greenwell is one of the world’s most sought-after make-up artists. From inspiring new trends on the catwalk to winning numerous beauty awards, she has created the looks behind some of the most iconic photo shoots of our time, working with royalty and supermodels alike. On receiving CEW's Lifetime Achiever Award, tributes were paid to Mary by Charlotte Tilbury, Lisa Eldridge, Sam McKnight and Cate Blanchett – all made possible by Jo Allison, PR director for Chanel, who presented the award.

2015 CEW Special Industry Award

Stephen Quinn – publishing director, British Vogue

The CEW Special Industry Award is presented to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry and the advancement of individuals in their careers. This year the honour went to Stephen Quinn, who has been publishing director of British Vogue for almost a quarter of a century. President of CEW Caroline Neville presented Stephen with his award.

2015 CEW Achiever Awards

Margaret Attwooll – general manager, Parfums Christian Dior

A 30-year veteran of the beauty industry, Margaret is a wonderful leader of people who has orchestrated success for Parfums Christian Dior in the UK for a long time and is affectionately known as “The Scottish Pocket Rocket”.

Sarah Brown – founder, Pai Skincare

From her own experience of a bad skin allergy and an inability to find suitable beauty products, Sarah Brown created the hugely successful, award-winning organic brand, Pai Skincare. Mum of two young children, Sarah is business-minded and shows exceptional leadership skills. “She is an inspiration to all in the beauty industry,” said CEW.

Vasiliki Petrou – senior vice president, Unilever Prestige

Vasiliki Petrou has been described as a true visionary and is tremendously passionate about the beauty industry. Three years ago, Vasiliki joined Unilever, looking after creativity and innovation in Personal Care, and set up the Prestige business, which she intends to grow. “Mum to a son and a daughter, she excels in everything she does and we salute her,” said CEW.

Geraldine Howard – chairman and founder, Aromatherapy Associates

Geraldine Howard is one of the most inspiring, passionate and loved women in the beauty industry today. She works hard to create products that make a tangible difference to people’s lives, with her blends of oils famed the world over. Geraldine’s love of aromatherapy began over 30 years ago. In response to her own health problems she blended Inner Strength, which has raised tens of thousands of pounds for cancer research.

2015 CEW Members’ Achiever Award

Kyra Oates – head of PR & Events, Benefit Cosmetics

Voted for by her peers, Kyra Oates is a much-respected driving force in beauty PR. “Kyra will be a wonderful ambassador for CEW and its soon to be launched Young Executive Programme,” said CEW. Kyra's Award was presented by Simon Comins, buying director at Superdrug, and Carol Bagnold, senior executive director Commercial & Private Banking, HSBC.

2015 CEW Digital Achiever Award sponsored by Google

Tricia Cusden – founder and managing director of Look Fabulous Forever

CEW's Digital Achiever award highlights the creativity and innovation that beauty brands are displaying in the rapidly evolving consumer landscape, and celebrates those who are using digital outreach to their utmost advantage. Alice Rock, beauty industry manager at Google, presented Tricia with her award.
