The awards now feature their own dedicated microsite where you can view full details of all the shortlisted products, get information on the awards night itself and buy tickets to attend.

In case some of you haven’t noticed the big new icon on the homepage, we have just announced this year’s shortlisted products for the Beauty Magazine Awards 2009.

This shortlist comprises all the products that have made it through by gaining the support and acknowledgement from the dedicated awards panel. It is this list that will go forward to the reader vote in the October issue of Beauty Magazine.

We’re delighted here that so many of you are taking part in our Solpadeine comp to win an espresso maker for your store. The online game we produced for you to battle with your colleagues seems to have been very popular and we’re seeing regular changes at the top of the score board…..and I have to say, having played the game many, many time myself; some of the top scores are really rather impressive.
The basic idea is to use the Solpadeine canon to fire ingredients at PAIN blocks. If you manage to connect all three ingredients (paracetamol, codeine and caffeine) to a pain block then you obliterate it!

For those of you who haven’t yet played (and it is free so there’s nothing to lose), the‘Obliterate Pain Game’ then you can find it on this link. You’ve got until the end of July to post your best score!

Congratulations to Adrian Wells, who reached the magnetic North Pole yesterday. Hopefully he’s not too cold and exhausted to have forgotten to have flown our flag and taken a snap of it!

Good old Boots. They must be rubbing their hands in glee this morning. Because yet again, a scientific trial has concluded that it’s Protect & Perfect Beauty serum ACTUALLY works to smooth our wrinkles.

The study did concede that probably most anti-ageing creams would produce a similar result - but fair play to Boots for once again being willing to put its balls on the line. (Because let’s face it, the mood would have been very different in Boots HQ if the trial had concluded its product made no difference.)
